Floating on afro-dub electro waves
More than 20 years ago, in 2002, Sena Dagadu wandered into a hip hop club in Budapest and, urged by a friend, grabbed a free mic. It was a defining moment in the history of Hungarian popular music, as the Ghanaian-Hungarian singer hasn’t put the mic down ever since and has become an inescapable figure in Hungarian pop culture.
Although she can easily wrap her audience around her finger with popular hits, she sees more challenge in performing deeper, more meditative shows, which require closer attention. That’s why she formed her latest group, Sena Dagadub.
